Why not “Unlimited”?
The term “Unlimited” is usually applied when a host is overselling bandwidth in a limited environment. They count on each site using less than their allotment, so they can sell the same bandwidth twice. Your site is put on a massive shared server with hundreds of other sites, and while there are no caps on usage, if another site gets a zillion hits and starts hogging the bandwidth, all the other sites on the server get bogged down to compensate.
What happens if I max out my bandwidth?
We won’t shut down your site if you overuse your bandwidth. If you’re getting close to maxing out your plan, we’ll let you know, so you can upgrade your plan if you choose. Any overages will be charged at rates of 0.2¢/MB for bandwidth, and 2¢/MB for disk space.
Your first overage is free! (Up to 5GB Bandwidth/500MB Disk Space) The first overage charge will be credited back to you on your bill. Your free pass if you forget to upgrade in time!
How reliable are Flotation servers?
All Flotation web sites reside at The Planet datacenter in Dallas, TX. The Planet’s world-class datacenters feature state of the art security, power, safety, and cooling systems – all designed to ensure that service remains uninterrupted. These datacenters contain top of the line technology to ensure that servers stay cool, secure, and up at all times. The datacenters feature redundant power, HVAC, and fire detection systems, and are monitored 24/7 by The Planet’s Network Operation Centers.
We host our own sites as well, so you can expect the same care and monitoring that we value for our own business.
